A Spectrum login has been lost, and the business is experiencing the worst of the ransomware attack, the Irish Times has reported.
Spectrum customers have been hit by a ransomware attack which affects its payment processing and payroll systems.
The ransomware encrypts customer accounts, preventing them from paying bills and collecting rent and other taxes.
Users have reported receiving the notification that their Spectrum account has been compromised, and having to login to a login page which asks them to create a new account.
It also asks users to log in to the website for three hours, which is required for the payment processing to take place.
A Spectrum spokesman said the login process has been “broken” and that all customer accounts have been wiped.
A spokesperson for the Irish Revenue Commissioners said the commission is investigating.
“This is not the first time that our customers have experienced issues accessing their accounts and payment information, and we are working to understand why this happened,” he said.
Spectra’s website says its systems are “operational” but said it was not aware of any customers having problems with the payment system.
