Dallas, Texas, June 3, 2018- The Dallas Stars announced today that they have secured a new multi-year arena lease with a new company, AEG.
The Stars will be the only NHL team to do so with the new agreement, which is expected to begin with the 2017-18 season.
The team will begin the 2017 season with a lease on the American Airlines Center and will play at the Toyota Center in Frisco from 2019-20.
AEG will have a partnership with the Stars to build a brand new arena that will host all of their home games and the American Hockey League playoffs, with the goal of building a venue that will support an NBA franchise.
“Our fans love the Stars and AEG is committed to providing them the best arena experience in the NHL, so we’re thrilled to announce the lease extension,” said AEG President and CEO Brian Moylan.

The team is slated to open the 2017/18 season with an exhibition against the Minnesota Wild at American Airlines Arena on June 1.
The exhibition is the first of four regular season games in the new arena.
Tickets for the Stars season are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
The team will play a home opener on April 19 against the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m.
CT at the American Heritage Center in Denver.
The game will be televised live on Sportsnet.
The Dallas Stars are currently tied for the NHL lead in regular season home attendance with 2,061,300 fans.
The Dallas area has one of America’s largest sports fan bases, with more than 5.7 million people tuning in to the team’s home games this season.
The club has a new corporate headquarters on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and has signed an expansion contract with the NHL.
